Terms of Use
The terms on which this site is offered. The important ones are clause 4, which explains that nothing here is medical advice, and clause 9, which asks you not to send confidential material by email.
1. Who these terms are with
This site, doitrous.com, is operated by Dr Omar Y. ElBasatiny as Doitrous. In these terms, "I" and "my" mean the operator, and "you" means anyone using the site.
2. Accepting these terms
Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site. That is the whole of the bargain. There is nothing to sign and no account to create.
3. What this site is
This is a personal professional site. It describes my work as a surgeon, as a developer, and in operations and management, and it provides a way to contact me. It is published for information only.
Descriptions of projects are summaries. They are written to convey the shape of the work, not to serve as a specification, a warranty of what any system does, or a statement about any named client.
4. This is not medical advice
I am a practising doctor, and the site says so. Nothing on it is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and none of it is a substitute for consulting a qualified clinician who has actually assessed you.
Reading this site, writing to me, or receiving a reply does not create a doctor-patient relationship between us. It never will, whatever the content of the exchange. Do not delay seeking care, and do not disregard advice you have been given by your own clinician, because of anything you read here.
If you have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency service now rather than this website.
5. Not professional or business advice
The same applies to the commercial side. Material about operations, management, or software is general commentary drawn from my own experience. It is not legal, financial, regulatory, or professional advice, and it is not tailored to your organisation. Take proper advice before acting on it.
6. Intellectual property
The text, design, structure, code, and images of this site are mine, or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other rights. The Doitrous name, the Doitrous mark and the site design may not be used to represent yourself or your business.
You may read the site, link to it, and quote short passages with attribution. You may not republish it substantially, present it as your own, or use it to train a model or build a derivative product without my written permission.
Third-party names and marks that appear, frameworks, services, and tools, belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively.
7. Links to other sites
Where the site links elsewhere, that is a pointer and not an endorsement. I do not control those sites, I am not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and you follow such links at your own risk.
8. How you may use the site
Use the site lawfully and considerately. In particular, do not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting, its admin area, or any connected system;
- interfere with its operation, including by automated request flooding;
- scrape or harvest it systematically, or use it to train a model, without permission;
- use my email address to send unsolicited commercial messages, malware, or unlawful material;
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organisation.
9. What you send me
Do not send confidential information by email. Email is not a secure channel. In particular, do not send patient data, medical records, personal health information, trade secrets, or anything covered by an obligation of confidence.
By writing to me you confirm you are entitled to send the contents, and you allow me to read the message, keep it, and use it to reply. I claim no ownership of your idea or your business, and a message alone puts neither of us under any obligation to the other. If you send something confidential regardless, I am under no duty of confidence in respect of it, and I would rather delete it than hold it.
10. Availability
The site is provided as it is and as it happens to be available. I do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously online, and I may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice. To the extent the law allows, all warranties that would otherwise be implied are excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published on it.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If any part of this clause is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The current version is always the one on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
13. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the site, are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Egyptian courts have exclusive jurisdiction over them.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, nor of the right to bring proceedings there.
14. Contact
